Enlightenment
☀️Greetings,
I wanted to extend a writing I did for my private online meditation club. The Monday Meditation Club is a monthly membership service that I provide where I send out a new I AM™ Yoga Nidra guided meditation each week along with a blog.
This particular meditation and the blog was about Enlightenment, or becoming an Enlightened Being. So let’s talk a little bit about what this is all about and at the end you’ll have the opportunity to become a member of this propriety club and reap the benefits of forming a meditation habit for yourself.
What is “enlightenment”?
📖 According to the Oxford Dictionary, it is the action of enlightening or the state of being enlightened.
The lotus flower is the symbol of enlightenment
So how do you know if you are an enlightened being?
An enlightened being is often described as someone who has attained a profound understanding of reality, transcending the ordinary limitations of human perception and experience.
This state of being is characterized by a deep sense of inner peace, wisdom, compassion, and an awareness of the interconnectedness of all life.
One doesn’t usually wake up one morning and say, “Oh! I've become an “Enlightened Being”! Although, I’ve heard of people who have had NDEs and came out of it with an expounded knowledge of the meaning of life far beyond what the average person has.
It is more often than not, a journey that can take several years of philosophical and scriptural study along with a practice of what is learned.
I believe, in essence, it is a journey rather than a destination.
And you’ll know if you are on this journey if you can resonate with some of the below characteristics.
✨The ability to live in the present moment, fully aware of your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings. The experience of transcending the distractions of the past and future, allowing yourself to experience life as it unfolds. The Sanskrit word for the present moment is Atha.
✨Having a deep understanding of impermanence and not clinging to material possessions, relationships, or even ideas. This non-attachment allows for greater freedom and a lightness of being. The Yogic practice of non-attachment is Aparigraha. Practicing Aparigraha is a great way to end suffering at the root.
✨Being enlightened is to maintain a state of equanimity, remaining calm and balanced regardless of external circumstances. They do not get swayed by emotions or external events, allowing them to navigate life's ups and downs with grace.
✨Possessing a profound insight into the nature of existence, understanding the interplay of illusion and reality. This wisdom often leads to clarity in decision-making and a harmonious approach to life’s challenges.
✨Exhibiting unconditional love and compassion towards allbeings, not just those who we think are worthy of our love. Recognizing that all beings are connected and share the essence of life. This compassion often manifests in acts of kindness, selflessness, and a commitment to the well-being of others.

It is very easy to get caught up in the ways of the societies we live in. To buy into thought forms that are not our own. Or to become discouraged when life doesn't unfold the way we would like it to and start blaming ourselves and others for our suffering.
But I believe everyone has these qualities within them and they just need to be nurtured with mindful practice.
Here are some ways to nurture your enlightened journey.
😌 Begin with self-inquiry and mindfulness practices. Regularly reflect on your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. The Yogic practice of self-inquiry, known as Svadhyaya, is a very brave and courageous practice and symbolizes self-confidence, because looking into one's less desirable aspects and striving for betterment can be scary sometimes.
😌 Practice compassion and kindness in your daily interactions. Volunteer, help those in need, and engage in acts of selflessness. This not only helps others but also fosters feelings of connection and love within yourself and brings awareness that all beings are connected on a deep energetic level without separation.
😌 Engage in regular meditation practices to quiet the mind, enhancing self-awareness, and connect with deeper aspects of your consciousness. Different forms of meditation, such as mindfulness, loving-kindness, and of course, Yoga Nidra are excellent ways to calm the fluctuations of the mind and connect deeper to the meaning of life.
😌 Explore teachings from various spiritual traditions that discuss enlightenment and the nature of reality. Texts from Buddhism, Taoism, and Yoga can offer valuable insights and guidance.
😌 Let go of attachments. Work towards recognizing and releasing attachments. This can include material possessions, expectations, and even fixed beliefs about yourself and the world. Embrace the idea of impermanence
Since one of the sure fire ways of stepping into the next level of consciousness is by way of meditation. But so many people I talk with say, “Oh, Iv’e tried meditating and I can’t get my thoughts to stop, so I gave up.”
Which is why Integrative Amrit Method™ ( I AM™) guided meditation is the best way to get started with creating a meditation habit.
The idea of meditation isn’t to stop the thoughts but, to be with the thoughts without attachment. To allow them to go from a shout to a whisper so you can hear your inner guidance.
This inner guidance is the key to becoming enlightened, as you connect with the collective consciousness. Over time you will notice that you know more than you thought, about yourself and the world around you.
The benefits of meditation are studied and have shown to lower cortisol levels, decrease anxiety and depression, spark deep inner awareness, among many other physical, mental, and emotional improvements.
Yoga Nidra uses breath and body awareness techniques to take you into deeper and slower brain wave states, where the body begins to rejuvenate and heal itself.
Please feel free to practice any of the free recordings that I have on my YouTube channel and decide for yourself if you would like to become a member of the Monday Meditation Club.
